When and how you can get a refund.
This Refund Policy explains when and how you can request a refund for purchases made on Afrobits, operated by Soro Technologies, Inc. ("we" or "us"). Please read this policy carefully before making a purchase. By completing a purchase, you agree to the terms below.
1. What's refundable
You may request a refund for:
- Unused credits purchased within the last 14 days, provided you have not used any credits from that purchase to generate a song;
- Failed generations — if our system charges you a credit but fails to deliver a song due to a technical failure on our side, we will automatically restore the credit. If this does not happen, contact us;
- Duplicate or erroneous charges — if you were charged twice for the same credit pack, or charged for a purchase you did not make, we will refund the duplicate or fraudulent charge after verification;
- Service unavailability — if the service is materially unavailable for an extended period and you are unable to use credits you have purchased, we will offer a refund or credit extension at our discretion.
2. What's not refundable
The following are generally not eligible for refund:
- Credits that have been used to generate a song — the song has been produced, and real third-party costs (compute, model usage, storage) have been incurred;
- Songs distributed to streaming platforms — once a song is submitted for distribution to Spotify, Apple Music, or any other platform, distribution fees and licensing processes begin, and those costs cannot be recovered;
- Subjective dissatisfaction with a generated song — because AI generation is inherently variable, we cannot guarantee that every song matches your taste. If you are unhappy with a specific generation, we encourage you to try again with a clearer or different prompt. Credits are designed to be low-cost specifically so this is affordable;
- Credits older than 14 days — unless the issue falls under one of the refundable categories above, credits purchased more than 14 days ago are non-refundable;
- Accounts terminated for violation of our Terms of Service — credits and purchases associated with terminated accounts are forfeited.
3. How to request a refund
To request a refund, send an email to hello@afrobits.ai with:
- The email address, phone number, or messaging account associated with your purchase;
- The approximate date of the purchase;
- The transaction reference from your payment processor, if available;
- The reason for your refund request.
We will review your request and respond within 5 business days. If your request is approved, the refund will be processed through the same payment method you used to make the purchase, subject to your payment processor's policies and timelines. Most refunds appear in your account within 5–10 business days after approval, though some banks and card issuers may take longer.
4. Payment processor policies
All refunds are ultimately processed by our payment processors. Their policies may affect refund timing, refund methods, and cross-border fees. Soro is not responsible for delays or deductions imposed by payment processors or by your bank or card issuer.
5. Chargebacks
If you dispute a charge directly with your bank or card issuer instead of contacting us first, we may suspend your account pending resolution of the dispute. We encourage you to contact us at hello@afrobits.ai before initiating a chargeback — it is almost always faster and easier for us to resolve the issue directly.
We reserve the right to provide evidence to payment processors and card networks in response to disputed chargebacks, including service logs, generated songs, and communication history.
6. Statutory rights
This Refund Policy does not affect any statutory rights you have under applicable consumer protection laws, which may provide additional remedies. For users in:
- European Economic Area & United Kingdom: you may have a right of withdrawal under consumer protection laws for 14 days after purchase, subject to specific exceptions for digital content that has begun to be supplied with your consent;
- India: consumer protection under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, and related regulations applies;
- Nigeria: consumer protection under the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act, 2018, applies;
- Other jurisdictions: local consumer protection laws apply where mandatory.
By purchasing credits and beginning to use them, you acknowledge that the digital service is being supplied and you lose the right of withdrawal under EU and UK rules for that portion of the purchase.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Changes apply to purchases made after the date of the change.
